When real estate companies list properties for sale, they put them on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). This enables every other real estate agent to see each property for sale and gives realtors the ability to sell homes from a large pool of homes rather than just the listings they have in the MLS.
Typically the real estate agent involved in the selling side of the transaction will receive a 3% commission, however it could be different from that.
So, if we help you buy your next property we will give you back up to 1% of the purchase price, or one third of our commission.
You will receive your home buyer rebate at closing, and many times the bank will let you use that as part of your down payment. However, you may have other ideas in mind for the rebate. Maybe you would like to decorate your new home, put it in a savings account, or buy new furnishings. It is completely up to you.
We do not take less than a 2% commission so if the property is only offering a 2.5% commission you will only receive a 0.5% rebate, which can still be a great deal of money in your pocket.
Most homes will be at the 3% commission, in which case you will receive the full 1% of the purchase price of the home.
